Installing and Maintaining A Water Softener

Undertanding Water Softeners

Designing Spaces

Emily Arthurs from Morton® Salt shows how water softeners work, and explains the benefits. The reason for installing a water softener into a home’s water supply is to combat the damaging effects of hard water; water high in mineral content. Emily explains how mineral deposits build up everywhere and on everything the water touches. Hard water damage can be prevented with the installation of a Morton® System Saver® Water Softening System.

We see how the system is installed, followed by a brief demonstration of how it works. Morton® System Saver® II Pellets and a bag of Morton® Rust Remover Salt complete the picture. The specially made pellets are designed to chemically change the water’s hardness, and should be replaced on a regular basis for maximum effectiveness. The first time you take a shower after having a system installed, you’ll feel the results.

(Pompano Beach, FL – PR.Com – April 27, 2015) The long term effects of hard water are easy to see in the home, so Designing Spaces®, the award-winning home improvement TV show, brought back the experts from Morton® Salt, Inc. to talk about getting hard water problems under control. Tune in on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. (ET/PT) to hear what a water softener can do for a home. This show will re-air on May 7, 2015.

Hard water is rough on towels and clothes, leaves a residue on dishes and glasses, appears on bathroom glass and tile, causes spots on countertops and the minerals even build up in refrigerator filtration and ice making systems, essentially aging appliances.

Emily Arthurs from Morton Salt, Inc. returns to Designing Spaces for this second part of their miniseries to continue the discussion on hard water and its effects on a household. In this segment, “How to Install and Maintain a Softener”, viewers will learn how hard water damage can be prevented with the installation of a water softening system.

The Morton® System Saver® Water Softening is a viable and cost effective solution to eliminating hard water issues, and can be retrofitted into most homes. Viewers will see one family’s step-by-step Morton® System Saver® Water Softening System installation as Arthurs offers tips on best practices, and describes how to maintain the system with regular use of Morton® System Saver® II Pellets and Morton® Rust Remover Salt.
