Don’t Miss The Boat In The Sun

Years ago when many of us were kids we played outdoors all the time, spent all day out in the sunshine, because it was said that sunshine was healthy for children, and it is. Putting sunscreen on kids several times a day was just not part of the daily routine for many of us growing up. Our parents weren’t neglecting us; things were different back then, including the strength of the sun’s rays.

Getting enough sun to be tan was in-vogue, and people would lie in the sun for hours soaking up the rays bathed in oils and lotions to help attract maximum color from the sun.  Things are greatly different now in many ways but one of the most important is our relationship with the sun.

Wearing SPF is imperative nowadays, not just for a day at the beach, but every day and anytime you are outdoors. Over the years we have learned how damaging, and dangerous, too much sun is. It seems you CAN have too much of a good thing, but fortunately science has advanced as well so we have the ability to protect our skin by wearing SPF every day.

Sunscreen is even more important for children. Being out in the sunshine IS healthy for them so is protecting their skin from the start of life is vital to their future health.  Make sure to tune in on Wednesday May 21, 23 and June 6, 2014 at 7:30 am (ET/PT) to hear more about protecting your children with sunscreen.  Banana Boat Sunscreen knows how important this is so they have an entire line of sun care products geared especially for children.

Children are active, always running and playing spending summer jumping in and out of water so the type of sunscreen you apply, and re-apply is important.
