The Star of the Show:
Virbac

McKamey Animal Center adoption counselor Jamie Westerwal notices two dogs up for adoption are showing signs of anxiety. Karen Walsh and Jamie meet with Veterinarian Dr. Jeff Nichol to appraise the symptoms, such as excessive licking and chewing of their fur, trembling, destructive behavior, crying, and barking. Dietary changes can help, but Dr. Nichol introduces Anxitane® Chewable Tablets as a dietary supplement to help reduce fear and anxiousness. Dr. Nichol explains signs for pet owners to look for in their cats and dogs, often seen as bad behavior may actually be fear based or anxiety. Within a week, the two dogs are showing greatly improved behavior once the chewable tablets are included in their dietary plan.

Stress Buster

Stress BusterAt the McKamey Animal Shelter in Chattanooga, TN, many animals arrive not only in need of medical treatment but emotional treatment as well.

Separated from their previous owners or undergoing a trauma causes stressful behaviors -- and living in a new environment around new faces can cause even more anxiety. Potential adoptive pet parents may quickly pass on what could be a wonderful pet due to the nervous symptoms the pet exhibits in the shelter.

Some of these nervous behaviors include:

 trembling
 panting
 pacing
 barking
 self-mutilating

Wanting to help dogs and cats find new homes, Virbac Animal Health helps calm pets with Anxitane® Chewable Tablets:

• not a drug
• diminishes violence and anxiety
• contains natural amino acid supplement found in green tea
• research–based
• tablet form
