Teaching Kids the Importance of Wise Financial Planning - The Fun Way

All too often, parents treat the subject of their kids and money as taboo, or something not to be discussed. Teaching your kids financial responsibility should start as early as possible, and Kid Spaces has discovered a plan of action that engages both parent and child in understanding money.Meet Karen and her daughter Samantha. Samantha is at the age when she and Karen have a lot of talks; about everything from religion to drugs, and, of course, boys. So far, she is on track, but her lifestyle is ever expanding.Karen is looking to introduce the concepts of money management and financial responsibility. Kid spaces brings in Stuart Ritter, CFP, and expert on how parents can teach their kids money basics. His main message: it is not hard or complicated.

It’s The Great Piggy Bank Adventure!

Kid Spaces has invited T. Rowe Price to talk about how they assist parents in teaching their kids financial responsibility-- while also having fun together.

The Great Piggy Bank Adventure℠ presented by T. Rowe Price is a hands-on interactive experience at Innoventions at Epcot® and an online game. Together they offer lessons on basic personal finance.

The online board game version of The Great Piggy Bank Adventure℠ is designed to teach kids ages 8-14 about setting goals and accomplishing them through smart planning, saving and investing. Families can play the game and have fun learning about financial planning—together.

Also joining Kid Spaces is Stuart Ritter, T. Rowe Price Certified Financial Planner™ and parent. Ritter discusses the importance of teaching children the primary financial themes at an early age and how T. Rowe Price can be a partner to parents and make this conversation fun.

Ritter says, “We felt so strongly about the topic that we collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to create a unique, hands-on experience for the family at Innoventions at Epcot®. We also worked with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Online to create an online game to educate families about saving and spending wisely.”
