Enjoying Your Outdoor Oasis

With the warm weather many homeowners enjoy evenings in the backyard, be it fixing dinner on the grill or having friends over for drinks and snacks. Pesky mosquitoes can be a big annoyance; they actually carry diseases. Designing Spaces is on a mission to help homeowners enjoy their summer evenings without the nuisance of mosquitoes, and has discovered one very tricky way to control these pests. Join correspondent Kirsten Hill and Ryan Magee from Culex Products as they prepare a backyard for maximum mosquito protection using the Mosquito Deleter. Also, Ryan has tips for all homeowners on preventative measures that can be taken to reduce the mosquito population in the back yard.

Don’t Let the Warm Weather— ‘Bug’ You!

The warm weather is here-- and the team at Designing Spaces knows that calls for entertaining outdoors! It’s time to invite friends and family over for grilling— or to just hang out and have a good time. Ok… we mentioned the invited-- but, what do you do when the uninvited guests show up? You know the ones we’re talking about—MOSQUITOES!

Mosquitoes are not only pesky and irritating, but they can also carry diseases. With the help of Culex Products MyMosquitoDeleter™ they’ll show you how to enjoy your summer evenings-- without the nuisance of mosquitoes.

When Culex Products came up with the innovative MyMosquitoDeleter™, they eliminated the use of any sprays, insecticides, propane tanks, or electricity. Their trick is to disrupt the mosquitoes breeding cycle.

All mosquitoes require water to reproduce. The young are hatching in nearby standing water, and from egg to emerging adult, it takes about a week. The adults rarely travel much more than 100-feet from where they hatched. That’s where MyMosquitoDeleter™ comes in. Their bucket is designed to attract mosquitoes to lay their eggs in the conditioned water of the trap. Then the eggs are trapped—and the cycle is broken.

Tips on Fighting Mosquitoes:

• It’s a good idea to eliminate standing water on the property.
• Dump out bird baths or flush them every week with fresh water.
• Look out for standing water in the saucers under plants, pet water bowls or kids toys that may be outside and have collected water.
• Be vigilant about any sources of standing water, because if mosquitoes are biting you in your yard, they are breeding very close by.

MyMosquitoDeleter™ not only keeps the mosquito population in check, but it’s also safe around pets and children-- and the design blends right into your landscaping.
