Soccer Superstar Lionel Messi scored a beautiful waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale for a whopping $10.8 million. This luxurious 10,500-square-foot estate has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a waterfront view, and a large backyard for parties after Inter Miami wins.
The world-famous soccer star signed with Inter Miami FC this past July on a record-breaking contract. Messi signed a two-and-a-half-year deal worth up to $150 million based on his salary, signing bonus, and equity in the team. This excludes his revenue-sharing deals with Adidas and Apple. Ever since Messi has called Miami his new home, it has shown the power of Lionel Messi. Inter Miami CF’s social media following, ticket prices, and merchandise have been skyrocketing.
Messi’s House-Hunting Journey
The new resident of Miami was seen house hunting this past month. According to The Palm Beach Post, Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo were looking at homes all over South Florida, from Broward County to Palm Beach County. Many star athletes call home to Palm Beach County including basketball legend Michael Jordan, tennis star Serena Williams, and golf greats Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. But the Messi’s decided on Fort Lauderdale in Broward County.
The home is only a few minutes away from the Inter Miami CF’s Drive Pink Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. John and Stacey Dickerson previously owned the property, they purchased the home for $9 million in May 2022. So, the Dickerson’s made a quick profit in 16 months. The home is located in Bay Colony a gated community.
The Famed Soccer Player Owns Other Properties in Florida
Messi has quite a few properties in South Florida. The purchase of his new home is now his fourth estate in sunny south Florida. He owns three luxurious condos in Sunny Isles Beach, one of the units is in the Porsche Design Tower.
Messi could be house-hunting again soon. The Inter Miami CF’s practice facility in Fort Lauderdale is only a temporary home for the team with plans to fully move to Miami. We must wait and see if Messi plans to commute from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. Inter Miami CF plans to move to Miami in 2025. The stadium will be in Miami Freedom Park a 58-acre public park. An official groundbreaking ceremony will take place later this year. But for now, the Messi’s will be residing in Fort Lauderdale.
