Nissan Supports Military Makeover

Vehicles for a Military Makeover

Designing Spaces

Military Makeover field correspondent Art Edmonds meets with Andy Galvin to find out about some of the work Nissan has been doing to help those in need, including members of the armed forces. Andy expresses how Nissan believes in good corporate citizenship, and appreciates the dedication of the military and supports service people across the country, in addition to how Nissan is involved with Habitat for Humanity. Vehicles used for our Military Makeover were supplied by Nissan, so Andy and Art take a look at three models; the NV High Roof, NV 3500, and the NV 200. The Nissan vehicles provided have given so many of the people involved a nice, comfortable ride to and from the airport, hotel, and the general running around that goes into a project of this size. Thanks to everyone involved at Nissan North America.

Designing Spaces® Teams Up with Nissan North America to Steer Military Home Makeover on Lifetime® TV

Nissan Fuels “Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” for third year as Presenting Sponsor by providing vehicles to transport construction materials; R. Lee Ermey returns to host the series which will chronicle the house renovations of Injured Marine Corps Hero and his family

(POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – PR LOG – May 12, 2015) Award-winning home improvement show Designing Spaces and Nissan North America will join forces to give back to the family of an injured veteran who served our country in the Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” series. Nissan, presenting sponsor for the third time, will be featured in the premiere episode airing on Friday, May 15 at 7:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime.

“Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” presented by Nissan, will air four consecutive Fridays beginning May 15. The show will chronicle the renovations of the home of injured veteran and Purple Heart recipient 1st Lt. Robert Keefe, his wife, Bianca, and their three children.

Lieutenant Keefe served as a Platoon Commander for a truck platoon during the battalion’s deployment to Afghanistan. During the deployment, his Humvee hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), causing severe spine injuries, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and memory loss which rendered him unable to continue military service.

Actor and retired Staff Sergeant R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny,” will take viewers up close and personal to see the step-by-step renovations of several rooms in the house and yard. Each space quickly transforms into what will ultimately be a more comfortable home for the Keefe family.

Nissan North America is committed to serving the communities in which their employees and customers live and work. The company’s programs focus on three main areas including education, the environment and humanitarian aid.

For the renovation, Nissan will once again drive the makeover by providing vehicles to move, haul, carry and distribute products for the military makeover, as well as support all transportation needs.

“At Nissan, we focus on making a difference in individuals’ lives and improving the quality of life in local communities through our charitable efforts. Working with ‘Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover,’ for the past three years has provided Nissan with the opportunity to assist members the U.S. Armed Forces in need,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, Inc. “We thank 1st Lt. Keefe for his service to his country and are honored to help transform his home into a more comfortable living space for the entire Keefe family.”

“Once again, Nissan North America has done an incredible job of contributing vehicles to keep our military makeover on the road to success. We are excited to show our viewers the Keefe family’s newly renovated home inside and out,” said Scott Moss, Director of Programming, Designing Spaces.
