(Pompano Beach, FL (PR Log)April 10, 2014) American Honda Motor Co. will be featured in a full half hour segment on the popular home improvement show Designing Spaces™ airing on Friday, April 11th at 7:30 am (ET/PT) on Lifetime to introduce their Honda Smart Home US. The model home showcases environmental innovations for both the home and for transformation.
In this episode, “A Look at a Zero Carbon Lifestyle Home and Transportation” the Designing Spaces Think Green team meets up with Michael Koenig, Honda Smart Home US Project Leader, at the Honda Smart Home US in Davis, California. The 2000 square foot “net zero” electric home is a showcase for environmental innovation and renewable energy.
Viewers will be taken on a tour of the home showing how every aspect of the Honda Smart Home (HSH) is sustainable or environmentally friendly including the “green” materials used in its construction, the appliances and furnishings to the gray water used for landscape irrigation, to how the home uses energy.
Ryan Hardy, AHM Environmental Business Development Office Manager and Renewable Energy Expert, will talk about how the Honda Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) uses solar power, converted into electricity, working in synergy with the rest of the house. Honda’s global environmental commitment works on synergies between homes and transportation to improve the environmental footprint.
