Don’t miss these featured segments taking center stage on Designing Spaces:
- More than Shingles – Choosing the Right Roofing System with Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt
Long-time homeowners are aware that eventually they will need a new roof to protect their home. Designing Spaces heads to Concord, Ohio where Host Nicole Marcellino talks to Brian Ray of Owens Corning to find out more about the 7 key components of their Total Protection Roofing System. Ray will educate viewers on how their roofing system can protect a home from water damage and expensive repairs, as well as affect a utility bill and enhance curb appeal. Viewers will be taken through the process of choosing the right roofing system starting with the first step – inspection — to choosing shingles to the final step of repair.
“We believe it’s important homeowners understand a high performing roof is more than just shingles. It’s a system,” said Joe Ochoa, Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Owens Corning’s Roofing & Asphalt business.“ This episode will help homeowners understand all the elements – a roof is an integrated system of roofing components and layers designed to work together.”

- Power Back Up for a Sump-Pump – with Pentair, Inc.
A sump pump can help protect a home from the impact of flooding, but when the power is out, a standard sump pump won’t work. And what if the homeowner is away from the home? There is no way to communicate the situation. In this segment, “Innovative Pumping Solutions for Today’s Homeowners”, Pentair Product Manager Taylor Crenshaw will highlight Pentair’s Link2O™, the company’s wireless communication technology that monitors connected water system devices and serves as a convenient, single source for constant information. Crenshaw will also talk about Pentair’s Myers® Battery Backup Unit for sump pumps, which uses Link2O technology to send a text or e-mail to the homeowner when home power is lost or the home’s primary sump pump fails. To learn more, go to www.pentair.com or http://www.link2o.com.
“Damage from a malfunctioning water system can be extensive and expensive,” said Crenshaw. “Our segment on ‘Designing Spaces’ helps to inform homeowners that whether they are at home, on vacation, at work, or anywhere else in the world, we have the products that allow them to communicate with and control their water system, and be confident that it is functioning correctly.”
